What Place Does Student Opinion have in STEM?

     In today’s rapidly advancing world, where science and technology are evolving at an unprecedented pace, it is essential that students develop strong critical thinking skills. As we explore the ever-changing methods in STEM, particularly in biology, we must ask: How can we encourage students to think critically about these innovations? More specifically, how can we provide students with opportunities to engage meaningfully with complex topics like genetic engineering, and how can they discuss their opinions on the evolution of science within a biology classroom?      In my own classroom, I’ve found that offering students the freedom to explore topics like genetically modified organisms (GMOs) helps foster their critical thinking abilities.
